The wait is over.  The beautiful Corinne Bailey Rae has blessed us with a beautiful song and music video.

We love discovering new music and were ecstatic to find Gabriel Garzón-Montano — a singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and New Yorker who were born to a Colombian father and French mother.

Going to shows in the city helped us discover amazing new music, such as Pitckblak Brass Band — a Brooklyn-based 10-piece hip hop brass group.

LA Cruising Music

When people think LA music, one of the first things to come to mind is the explosion of gangster rap in the late 80s and early 90s. Due to the ever present east coast media bias, a lot of LA hip hop doesn’t see the light of day the further you travel from the coast. Truth is, LA hip hop has never faded away, and there are plenty of young guys making solid tracks on the best coast. I’m sure you have all heard of Odd Future, Kendrick Lamar, and Murs, so in preparation for our trip out west, here are a few other artists we enjoy representing SoCal:

Tiron & Ayomari

Blu & Exile

Paris Jones

For more of a classic LA feel. Definitely check out the homie BAMBU

This weekend’s show: Armenian-born jazz pianist Tigran at Littlefield, Brooklyn.

Loving our musical adventure in New York City!
